A Sydney wedding venue director has been fined for holding a reception that was in breach of the stay-at-home order issued for the Northern Beaches.

More than 20 people were penalised over the event at Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont.

The 28-year-old bride was issued a $5,000 infringement.

The wedding reception held on Sunday, December 27 is still being investigated by police.
