WARNING: Does COVID Cause Erectile Dysfunction?
The other day someone asked me if they should get a COVID vaccine shot because they didn’t want to get erectile dysfunction if they got COVID-19.
So, at first I thought … Seriously, your first concern about getting COVID is erection problems? Not lung or brain or other health issues, like potentially even the rare case of DEATH?
But hey, we’re men and erections matter. And yes, sometimes we think MORE with the small head, than the big one.
Less erections means less of a man, right?… or something like that.
Of course, I figured the answer is “yes, you’ll have erection issues since you’ll be sick.”
Even if you get the flu or a cold, you don’t want to have sex.
However, since I obviously don’t know everything – I decided to do research and I was shocked to find out the newest research as of March 20th, 2021
So here’s the shocking facts, COVID-19 increases the risk of developing erectile dysfunction (ED) by nearly six times, according to data from the first study to investigate the association between ED and COVID-19 in young men in a real-life setting.
Not old guys and not in test tubes or clinical settings.
What’s worse is that the preliminary numbers also indicated that having ED to begin with, also increased men’s susceptibility to COVID19 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.
Thus, men with ED are more than five times more likely to get COVID-19.
And this is with YOUNG men who have much better testosterone and hormone levels, than older guys.
And for those of you who have had COVID-19, the estimated risk of developing ED was 5.66 higher. Those numbers remained even after other factors were considered.
This means ED can be both a short AND long-term problem linked to COVID-19
Of course, the other risk factors make this situation much worse
Having high blood pressure
Having kidney problems
Low levels of Vitamin D3
Poor hormone levels and thus, lower levels of testosterone – which dramatically boosts your immune system
