Unlike hyenas and lions, leopards are excellent tree-climbers. Which means baboons sitting high up in a tree can never afford to let their guard down. The Luangwa valley has some of the highest densities of leopards in the world – bad news for the baboons who generally feel safe from other predators who lack a leopard’s excellent climbing abilities.
